so, recent guilty pleasure--

I'm not sure why,
given my general distaste for tv-ish-stuff,
but I've been watching about one or two episodes of star trek: TNG per day.

They're all wildly out of order and jump from season to season since I pretty much just grabbed the assortment available on the campus DC++ network, but.. I dunno.

I was never into star trek previously. I think I've just become enamoured of the concept of a culture without material need which prizes self-betterment and tolerance above all else. pipedreamish, sure, but it's a nice one, as far as those go.

My album of franco-flemish music arrived (finally) :DD
and also, this music-quest would not have wobbled off the starting block if [livejournal.com profile] idoru hadn't helped with the giving-me-a-means-of-finding-it phase of the operation, so four cheers for her, or four-and-a-half, probably, if you're not watching the conductor.

Also, a camus-book. mmm.

Aha. Yep. I had a TNG phase back in high school. It lasted about...uh...two years. Tied in with my aspiring-engineer phase and my I-love-weird-theoretical-physics-more-than-anything-else phase. Now of course I'm over both of those and apparently well into an I'm-addicted-to-long-hyphenated-phrases phase. Huh. Phrase phase. Try saying that one ten times quickly.

That, Python, and Jeopardy were the only TV shows I ever watched in high school, though...and now it's down to nothing.
